.NG Domain Names for State and Local Governments in Nigeria

.gov.ng is a type of .ng domain extension that is intended for the 3 tiers of Government in Nigeria, and their respective Ministries, Departments and Agencies.

The .gov.ng extension is however heavily moderated. All applications for registrations are manually vetted following the submitted documents that accompany the application.

Only the Federal Government of Nigeria and it’s agencies, as well as any of the 36 State Governments can register directly under .gov.ng.

State government Ministries, Departments and Agencies, as well as any of the 774 Local Governments in Nigeria, must expressly register at that 4th-Level.

The 4th-Level implies that the relevant State code precedes the “.gov.ng”
